In the heart of Battersea, London, stands the enchanting UK Assembly—a testament to a beautiful journey that began with Evangelist Sharon Ormsby's arrival in 2001. Her initial plan was to stay briefly, yet as fate would have it, her intended sojourn extended to more than two decades.
Upon her arrival, she was joined by her husband, Evangelist Roy Ormsby, who later became an ordained Pastor. Together, they explored various Sabbath keeping churches until finding one that resonated with their Jamaican worship experiences. Despite this, an inner longing akin to Moses seeking his kin in Egypt nudged them to connect with their spiritual family.
This compelling desire materialized on January 29, 2005, when three individuals congregated at Sister Joy Campbell's welcoming home in Stratham. The divine presence was palpable as they gathered, guided by the verses of Psalm 50:5, affirming their yearning and unveiling God's purpose for their journey in the UK. Evangelist Ormsby's prayer, "Lord, I don't know their whereabouts, but You do—please bring them to us," echoed their collective hope.
After six months, their gathering outgrew Sister Campbell's residence, necessitating a move to the Wilditch Community Centre, where they worshipped for five transformative years. Their path mirrored that of the wandering church in the wilderness—moments of movement intertwined with rest as they traversed.
It was on July 14, 2007, that the Church was formally inaugurated, marking a significant milestone. The baptism of two believers on July 15, 2007, heralded a series of subsequent baptisms: four in 2010, six in 2011, four in 2014, and four in 2021—a testament to the church's growth and influence.
Under the steadfast leadership of Pastor Roy Ormsby, the church persists in its noble pursuit, nurturing and preparing souls for the glorious Kingdom of God.
